EXP Gallery is owned and operated by Louis Shields, visual artist and art professor.  EXP Gallery
focuses on established and emerging artists in 2-D, 3-D and 4-D media.  The Gallery also will open
its doors to support the local art community in many other facets.

After living in the Pilsen East neighborhood as an artist in a live/work space I participated in the many
art related and cultural activities prevalent to the area.  As an emerging artist, I am fully aware of the
many hurdles a creative individual must get through to grow.   2006 seemed like no better time to
become more involved with the Chicago Arts District.

It is my mission to create an atmosphere where any forward thinking art lover can come to EXP Gallery
and feel right at home to view the work, participate in interactive exhibits and just talk art. 

In an attempt to create more interaction with artists working in the area, EXP Gallery will open its doors
once a month for an informal arts discussion.  This will include slide share/critique, artist workshops
and more.
